Welcome…Take a Journey with me
Welcome to my blog. I have found myself standing on the cusp of an amazing journey. I hadn’t realized until recently that it is actually a journey that started many, many years ago…as a 6 year old boy when my world changed. On that fateful day I literally left one world for a new world that was as foreign to me as if I had actually left the planet. What I know now…that I didn’t know then…was that there were forces at work on my behalf, forces that would not only ensure my safety but would lead me down a path where I would find myself in a position to tell my story in the effort to help others who are also looking for their own way.
I am the product of a long history fraught with strife and struggle. I hail from a mystical land where the people have long desired freedom and peace but have often found themselves at the mercy of others whose wishes were not in the best interest of the people. Today I am in a place where my worlds are colliding and this all happened because of a small piece of history that very few even know happened. In fact, I hadn’t realized the full brevity of the event until a phone call from a man who was looking to talk to a guy who had flown a helicopter in Vietnam on the day Saigon fell. That man (Ba Van Nguyen) had saved the lives of many people including me, my siblings and my mother. He had quite literally flown us to safety risking his own life in a feat that, still today, amazes those who witness it on film. That man was my father and he unknowingly has set me on a path to find a better tomorrow for everyone I can touch. He has set the bar high but I am striving every day to meet the expectations on the Universe and be of service to my fellow humans.
This blog is only a small part of the journey that began all those years ago, continued as I acclimated into the United States, further pushed forward with a documentary which included my father called “Last Days in Vietnam” and, now, marches on with the advent of a brand new speaking career and a book that will share my experiences and growth with all those who read it. Wisdom is the reward of experience and it should be shared…I intend to share it with you...
